JUNIOR CLUB RESULTS 2023
A huge congratulations to our Top 5 Year Long Order of Merit winners. It came down to the final event with a close race for the overall champion. Here are the results…
#1 – Memphis Hoyt : Custom Taylormade Spider GTX Putter donated by Evan Webber/Taylormade Canada valued at $699.95
Memphis was the definition of consistency this season. Rarely missing a week and always posting a solid score. Memphis showed tremendous improvement in power over the season ending the year being able to hit a driver over 290 yards! Bombs away! Playing mainly at Land-O-Lakes Memphis was able to break 40 for 9 holes for the first time. An amazing accomplishment. Congratulations on a spectacular season!
#2 – Spencer Forsyth : Cobra Rickie Fowler King Junior Set donated by Cobra/Puma Golf Canada value at $549.95
Spencer had a great 2023. Away for a stretch on the East Coast, Spencer was still able to hang tight and make the finale exciting. Spencer has improved to the point where he seldomly hits a poor shot and is able to play aggressively during a round. Spencer also became the first official Black Belt of the Kick-In program shooting below 40 at Evergreen after passing all other checkpoints. Great year Spencer!
#3 – Luke Stimson : Taylormade Carry Bag donated by TD bank valued at $329.95
Luke is a strong up and comer. Demonstrating amazing athletic ability and a high golf IQ. Much like Memphis, Luke showed a high level of consistency with overall performance. We expect big things from Luke in the years to come! Congratulations Luke!
#4 – Owen Stimson : Taylormade MG3 Wedge donated by Evan Webber/Taylormade Canada valued at $239.95
Owen is exactly the sort of young man you hope you have in your programs. Owen is always smiling and is incredibly helpful. On the golf course, Owen is a fierce competitor constantly trying to perform at the highest level. A large amount of improvement came to Owen this year increasing total distance and lowering scores. If not for some time away, Owen could have given the top 2 a run for their money! Congrats to Owen on a strong 2023.
#5 – Tyson Howes : Puma Satchel donated by Cobra/Puma Canada and a dozen Bridgestone balls donated by Kevin Hamilton/Evergreen Golf Centre valued at $99.95
Tyson was fortunate enough to have a strong final stretch and push into the Top 5. As our defending Order of Merit Champion, Tyson is no stranger to the competition and continues to improve in pressure situations. In 2023 Tyson was a Golf Canada Junior Skills Competition divisional champion at the Evergreen Golf Centre. Thanks to a continued passion for the game working year round with our own Marcus Meneghetti we can expect to see Tyson experience perennial success.
